Pixma mg5220 review
The Canon Pixma MG5220 provides a generous serving of speed, high image quality, and features for a reasonable price. ($94.35 if you buy from Amazon).
On the software side, Canon has included a Movie frame printing function to pick out an HD movie frame, optimize the image automatically and print it or save it as a JPEG. The printer software supports a Full High Definition (HD) Movie Print feature that enables you to choose individual frames from movies recorded on HD Canon EOS and PowerShot Digital cameras and print them in high resolution.
The MG 5220 prints high-quality photos in 20 seconds and prints documents as fast as 11 ISO pages per minute. Canon’s software bundle for the MG5220 boasts enhanced light source recognition and color correction to automatically correct poorly exposed areas on images. If you require negative/slide scanning, CD printing or high fidelity printing (with red and green inks), the MG5220 isn’t the model for you.
The ink costs are reasonable. The separate inks include a $16, 341-page black cartridge (4.7 cents per page) and $14 cyan, magenta, and yellow cartridges lasting between 500 and 520 pages (2.7 to 2.8 cents per page). The dedicated photo black, also $14, lasts for about 660 photo images (or adds a small amount to a typical document). A four-color page would cost about 13 cents.
